Tennessee Association of Community Action

TACA, the Tennessee Association of Community Action, is the professional membership organization for the state’s 20 Community Action Agencies. TACA serves its members with training and technical assistance, facilitating collaboration, resource development, and by leading statewide efforts to increase public awareness of Tennesseans in poverty and the strategies and solutions to improve their lives and communities.

The Association supports education, training, webinars, statewide, regional and national meetings and conferences, in addition to regularly scheduled meetings, in which agencies build their capacity to achieve results for children, individuals, families and communities. TACA also serves the collective interest of its members through:
  • Information exchange
  • Advocacy
  • Peer support
  • Networking
Tennessee’s Community Action Agencies work diligently to address a variety of barriers to individual and community stability, safety and economic security. In 2017, 854,623 outcomes were realized as a result of the services and strategies provided by the agencies and their community partners.

TACA is the Training and Technical Assistance hub for the member agencies as they build their capacity to achieve more robust outcomes for individuals, families and communities and professional development for themselves.
