As families struggle to heat their homes this winter and gear up for unpredictable summer temperatures, it is more important than ever that thoughtful advocates focused on consumer protection, housing security, and racial justice come together and discuss tangible strategies for addressing the looming energy affordability crisis.
For this reason, the National Consumer Law Center is hosting an Energy Justice Exchange to bring together advocates from across the country to discuss and exchange ideas and strategies for improving energy affordability for low-income utility customers. In particular, we hope to highlight Southeast-based advocates who can bring a racial justice lens and southern viewpoint to addressing energy insecurity.
You’re invited to participate in this free in-person convening that will bring together around 20 to 30 consumer advocates, affordable housing advocates, racial justice advocates, and community action agency representatives to collaborate on local, state, and/or federal solutions to the energy affordability crisis. The meeting will be one of many as NCLC works to build a strong low-income energy advocacy network of leaders invested in consumer protection.
